Hello all! I brief intro since I've not posted in awhile. I'm an LLLL, WIC Peer Counselor, and new IBCLC in the Charleston, WV area. I've got three children and my 'other' field is playing the oboe professionally. Here's what's happening: my sixth-grader's teacher sent home a note explaining that instead of a gift exchange, the students would collect baby items for newborns to put into gift bags to be donated to needy parents at local hospital. What the children are to bring to donate depends on the first letter of their last name. Guess what my child is asked to bring: one new bottle and a teething ring! (Pacifiers are also on the list, though not for my child's initial.) Of course, her teacher recently had a baby, so I guess we don't have to ask how she's feeding her little one, do we? I'll seach the archives for Elisheva's eloquent advice on letter writing, but just thought I'd invite any other wisdom anyone may wish to share. Needless to say, my child won't be contributing any bottles!

Jenny Morris, in rainy Charleston, WV
