Just wanted to thank you all for your input with this case. 

I am in touch with this mom twice a day, and am happy to hear that
the baby, who was taking in 70 ml per feed is now gulping, smiling, and happily ingesting 160-180 per feed with a different bottle. She will be going to weigh the baby tomorrow morning but is sure that the baby is filling out and just behaving so differently.
she received a new treatment for fungus, bacterial infection called TevaKutan, a local combo of chlotrimisole, dexamethasone adn neomycin which seems to be doing wonders.
will let you know tomorrow how the weight check goes.
she is determined to put the baby to breast which I suggested that she wait a bit til the baby gains, and we are sure she is on the road to total recovery. Meanwhile she is supplying all the baby's need with EBM
