I guess I wasn't very clear. We do feed the baby immediately & retest within
30 min. Then before the next 3 feedings, we do another Accuchek . I believe
we use the Accuchek III machine because it is calibrated & OK'd for use in
the neonate.  I like your method of breastfeed, then recheck. Our docs/nurses
tend to want to supplement 1st, then allow breastfeeding but often encourage
supplementing "so that the baby doesn't end up with an IV."
