The protrayal of a bottle-feeding culture on Sesame Street is certainly
unfortunate, especially since a regular chararcer on that show in the late
70's (Native American singer Buffy St. Marie) was shown several times
breastfeeding her son Cody and discussing it casually with Big Bird.

The underwriting sponsorship of Sesame Street is frequently announced or
shown at the end of the program.  Since we have not had any regular viewers
of SS in this house for 12 years, I'm not sure who the current sponsors are.
