           I hoping you can help me out here, I replyed to a dicussion on
the alt. alternative medicine group. They were dicussing breastfeeding and
weaning  one of the Docs who's on quite often made a statement to the
effect that weaning usually occurs at age 2 in other societies and that
only white lactation-consultant types BF longer. So my reply read that I
thought the world wide weaning age was between 4-7, needless to say I have
gotten flamed. I have looked through my papers I have  but haven't found
info to back me up. I know a few years ago there was a Scientific American
article on BF and natural child spacing, but I thought I have read
something more recent that would document this statement.
