Hi all-
I just can't control myself on this one. Yesterday I recieved a notice
in the mail about a two day breastfeeding course to be offered by a
medical center. Breastfeeding is called a primary care *first* line of
defense.
The announcement then goes on to say:
"*quiet* (their emphasis) babies under three months are welcome"
I really can't believe what I read. The implied message about the
duration of exclusive breastfeeding and the organizer's views of mother-baby
attachment are rather obvious. I certainly will not go to this one.
It would seem that there is a long way to go in educating even those who
say that they believe in breastfeeding.
