Just a note on those formula bags. I'm chiming in here - a doula no less!
When I had babe #2 at 5-6 weeks early, I was really glad to get one of those
bags with the ice packs and zippered bottle bag. That's what I used to
carry my EBM back to the hospital with (since they wouldn't let me room in
until last 2 days UUGHHH!). After giving birth early, worrying myself to
pieces plus caring for my confused, recently weaned 2.5 year old, I was
really glad that I didn't have to dig through my garage to find a cooler and
then go to the store to get ice packs to keep the milk cool. I threw out
the ads & formula & other junk since my little guy got my milk only (still
nursing at 13 months, of course :). I knew better, and I think my LLL group
would have loved me through it. Not trying to defend those bags because I
think they're downright despicable too, but it sure came in handy when I
needed it!
