I would like to know just what a hospital really pays for the meds that it
uses.  I know that clinics have large supplies of OTC meds and prescription
samples provided to them by reps.  My guess is that the prepackaged Tylenol in
the hospital is also dropped off.  This time of year, hospital and clinic staff
are being stuffed with luncheons, cookies, fruit baskets, etc. from any rep
that can gain from being noticed by any particular group.  This is all covered
by advertising expenses, and it must be a BIG expense.  It is all rolled into
the cost of the med (or baby food).

How much would be saved by the consumer if he were ONLY paying for the actual
cost for producing the product.
