I believe that I read on Jack Newman's website of the suggestion to rinse pump parts and then keep in a baggie in the refrigerator between use and to clean well once each day.  I think you also need to take into consideration, age of baby and how long the milk will be stored.  If you are pumping for a premature baby or you are storing milk for a longer time, you might want to wash with soap and water between pumping. I was pumping with low supply up to 7 times a day and hand washing with every use which made my hands a mess, as well it was taking up more of my precious time to rest/sleep. Rinsing and refrigerating pump parts between use was extremely helpful for me and my hands.
