Am reading Bathsheba' Breast: Women, Cancer & History, by James S. Olson,
Johns Hopkins University Press, 2002. This book is about the history of
breast cancer and its treatments, as well as the cultural and societal
history surrounding the disease and women. It is very well written and
readable; like a gripping history novel. Olson mentions the role of
childbearing & breastfeeding in a few places, primarily pp. 240-242. I
would like to have seen that discussion expanded, and the recent research
from China incorporated, but this is a great read for Lactnetters. The
author is himself a cancer overcomer, so the writing is poignant and
powerful, imho.

Warmly,
Anna Swisher, MBA, IBCLC
