Kathy, I agree and at the same time educational institutions for our medical professionals must begin consistenly employing IBCLC's (not just as "guest speakers" but as permament classroom and clinical educators)  to educate our future Dr's and Nurses. This will reinforce and expand on the education you propose they receive in High School.  Sally Myer RN, BSN (who received no training on lactation in nursing school when I attended 20 years ago and works with new graduates of nursing school who still have no or incorrect knowledge of lactation).
