A nurse friend's husband was in a serious auto accident and has sustained 2
broken legs, a crushed knee, a broken arm and vertebra. Her question is do
we have any information on the benefits of using breastmilk in trauma
cases??? He has undergone several surgeries and is now stabilized. I
know there were previous situations were breastmilk was helpful when the
immune system was compromised and in some GI cases, but was not familiar
with any studies done in trauma cases. Any information shared will be
appreciated.
