Karen
Ann Marie Widstrom, a Swedish research midwife, has written many
papers on this subject. She has looked at the ability of babies to
latch on and suckle directly after (unmedicated) birth, and the cues
that they use to do this. She has also examined the type of things
that we do in delivery suites which affect the babies ability to
feed.
