Heather,

On a happy note, I can think of at least one mom I have spoken with in the
past 3 mos who worked for 7 years to get her current baby. She was a nicu
nurse and Dad is an Air Force nurse. She went thru a very hard time getting BF
going. Had to finger feed and insist on no ABM or artificial feeds in
hosp.(baby got them anyhow)

When she called me (in tears) she was at the end of her rope. Baby wouldn't
latch, she was engorged, and feeling like a failure as a mother. Grandma (moms
mother) told her "Even if you cant breastfeed Honey, you'll still be a good
mother" . Co-workers at the hospital told her "We never thought you would turn
in to none of those Breastfeeding fanatics"

I talked to her for over an hour- told her to come see our IBCLC (who was out
of town that day) or call hosp IBCLC if not. Meanwhile, protect the milks
supply and FEED The Baby all else could be worked on.

She stuck with it, saw our IBCLC, and they are doing beautifully. She has come
to a few of my "Mommy and Me" meetings and says every time that if I hadn't
told her what I did ( and she repeats it verbatim every time), that she would
have given up.

So there are some invitro moms who do BF.

just my $.02
