As in the past few weeks, the show opened with a scene of Dr. Corday talking
with her husband, with references to breastfeeding.
Dr. Corday, her husband (also an ER doctor) and his daughter in car on way
to work. She's on phone to hospital, HE instructs his 14 year-old daughter:
"She (baby) should nap until 6:30, but if she wakes up give her 4 oz of
breastmilk from the fridge. Put it in the Avent warmer"
So I guess that clears up who may be sponsoring/influencing this show?
The mom has not been actually been shown feeding at the breast once this
season. In fact, when she returns home from work that evening, the baby is
crying in crib while her step-daughter listens to loud music. Arguements
follows and mom, holding baby, orders stepdaughter to feed the baby.
So obviously she is not "breastfeeding" by my definition of the word, at
least. (Baby is rarely shown happy, usually crying, whereby someone (other
than mom) is ordered to give it so many oz of breastmilk) At least they
haven't actually shown bottles or shown the baby being bottlefed.
In another scene, a colleague discloses that she "doesn't believe what
everyone is saying about her - about the breastfeeding and sleep
deprivation"???
BTW, the Dr. is now subject to a criminal inquiry as 4 of her patients have
died (no mention by adminstration of breastfeeding as the cause of
infection, her cultures were clear)
