No Evonne, lactic acid in post-exercise breastmilk wasn't only reported in
one of those trashy magazines which advertise ABM! There was an article in
the Nursing Mothers Association of Australia newsletter Nov/Dec l992 saying
that babies may refuse the breast after exercise because of taste changes
caused by lactic acid in the milk. The suggestion is to wait 90 minutes
after exercise before offering the breast. There is another mention of
different rates of accumulation of lactic acid in breastmilk depending on
breast fullness in the NMAA Breastfeeding Review, Nov 1993, page 378.
