A couple of weeks ago there was discussion on if it was safe to use hand
soap on breast pump kits. So I took my own LN posted advice and called the
manufacturer Ecolab of the "Endure Foaming Handsoap" used in our hospital
and clinics. So, officially, it is safe for food equipment (and breast pump
flanges).  I'm told that there is no triclosan, no PCMX and no CHG (the
antibacterial agents that don't do much for sanitation and do do a lot of
harm in our water, etc).
And from what I could find out elsewhere, castile soap has a long history of
use on human bodies and is safe for food equipment as well.
