Response to LC hours:

I am one of 2 LC 's  covering 7 days a week Hours 8:00 am till
finished.(4-5pm)
We see all inpatients/do 3-5 OP per week/follow-up phone calls to all
moms at 2 days & 2 weeks. Hours are flexible due to patient load.
1.4 FTE's (I am 36 hrs/wk. and other LC is 20 hrs./week. We overlap
occasionally.
We work at 2 hospitals every day.- total #deliveries 1900 per year.
Cover a phone warm line on breastfeeding support. We keep very busy and
feel that we have adequate coverage. When on vacation, we have a nurse
CLC assist one of us when needed.
