I would NOT discontinue supplements at the breast with this baby.  I
would put his birthweight on a growth chart, and estimate where he
should be by now, and continue supplementing and pumping until he
reaches that weight.  He is still sleepy at the breast because he is
undernourished.  It is best to get these babies caught up quickly...in
part because when things limp along like this, the mom tends to get very
discouraged and worn out.  If you stuff them full of pumped milk and/or
formula when it is first discovered they are not gaining adequately, you
can save everyone a lot of grief.
