I have a client who is breastfeeding a 19 month old and will be taking
25-50mg progesterone suppositories to maintain a new pregnancy. Her OB
says she must wean, and she doesn't want to. I have searched the
archives and found that many others have asked this question but most
responses must have been done privately as they weren't on Lactnet. An
exception is Dr. Newman saying that progesterone treatments do not
necessitate weaning. Is this because the levels in breastmilk don't
change much or for some other reason? I couldn't find anything in Dr.
Hale's book. Does anyone have an OB-convincing answer to this question?

Thanks for your expertise!
