If calories are not the corcern then why do the doctors say that since baby is not gaining weight fortifer needs to be added to increase bm to 22kcals or 24kcals. 

Since protein is so important for the premature babies is there a way to give extra protein without the use of something from a formula company? Like another supplement of some sort? I know that there is a prolacta but that is not an option.
