This is very true, Winnie, and it still goes further, because there is also the possibility of confusion in other ways of delivering foor to an infant. With every feeding method (bottle, fingerfeeding, cupfeeding, ...) there is a chance that a baby will get used to and so prefer this method, or get hooked to it or get confused when returned to breast. 
I started to use the term ''nipple confusion'', but than changed to ''sucking confusion'' but prefer ''drinking or feeding confusion'' nowadays. This better refers to the variability of aspects of confusion and/or preference in the feeding of an infant.
