Hello Kathy,

The Ameda kits are great, but very different.  There is negative and
positive pressure and airflow moving through the tubes and to the kit.
Yes, the kit uses the diaphragm to keep the airflow exchange separate,
but the pressure against the nipple/areola is both negative and
positive. Like a suck and release.  This Unipulse has only negative
pressure and a massaging action.  This means that any matter or flora on
the nipple is not pushed back into the pores and the lymph is not being
moved in the tissues like on a standard suck /release pump.  Also, I
used the term industrial to mean it was a heavy duty pump.  Robust and
meant to be a work horse.  There are no real standards for these terms
we use as you know.
