Almost all medical equipment in US hospitals is for one patient use
only, even if a mom only used a shield one time, she is charged for it
and it is hers.

There is very little that we reuse, with the exception of instruments
used in operations and they are sterilized in central supply, cleaned in
a special solution then autoclaved.
