The Q is asked whether it is a conflict of interest for a book about BFg,
written by AAP, but purchased and emblazoned with the logo of a prominent
formula manufacturer, to be distributed in a goodie bag.

The answer is Heck Yeah, it is a professional conflict of interest for the
IBCLCs who work there .... and the MDs, the RNs, the NNPs, the midwives,
the OTs, the SLPs, the PTs, and any other person with a healthcare provider
role.

Healthcare providers market good health, not products.  Commercial
interests market products.  By having hospital personnel hand out this
book, Abbott hopes their product line is bathed with the legitimacy and
authority that comes with the HCP.  They want the HCP to be their unpaid
shill.  It is an astonishingly successful ruse.
