I typically post a full reference if I mention a study, and have given the
full ref. for the Messner study several other times in the past. All are in
archives. It is really time consuming to answer individ. posts with
requests to repeat a ref. that has been posted to the full list. Not to be
cranky, but please consider checking archives.
Here are the refs for the past few mentions I have made of a standard OT
text and for the Messner article:

Messner,A et al: Ankyloglossia: Incidence and Associated Feeding
Difficulties, Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg/Vol 126, Jan 2000
www.ARCHOTO.com

Wolf and Glass, Feeding and Swallowing Disorders in Infancy, Therapy Skill
Builders, Tucson, AZ 1992. The book is prob. available thru amazon.com and
is sold at a lot of conferences. 1-800-866-4446 is an order no. off back of
book. I can't recall price, but think it was around $60 US. Worth every
penny.

Clinics in Perinatology did a themed vol on breastfeeding in June 1999 that
is excellent, and contains some coorabortive support from credible pediatric
specialists that tongue-tie can be a prob. for some nursing infants. Also
conts. stuff about yeast infections, growth, etc. Great issue, worth
buying.
