Our hospital just implemented these, every staff wears a phone, they are
wireless and not cells.  They only work in our building.  They are basically
an extension of the stationary phones at the nurse's stations.  What we are
doing is encouraging mothers to call their nurse on their phone when they
need something.  Every room has a wipe off board where we put our phone
number.  Lactation also has their own phone.  I think it will work well, but
we just opened our new unit on Wednesday and still getting used to all the
new technology in place.  Wish us luck, its been a crazy week so far.
