I have put a shout out on a UK list, to see if anyone there was 
involved in this Scottish study and can say a bit more about how it 
worked.

One thing that struck me is that the contact between mothers and 
supporters (every 2 days) could seem intrusive.

The other aspect of it is that peer supporters are *minimally* 
trained - were they perhaps charged with tackling difficult problems 
beyond their scope? My feeling is the value of peer support is in the 
way they act as a social resource and a way of raising bf's profile 
in a community, attending groups as experienced mothers and so on, 
using listening skills and befriending.
