I wanted to add my reaction to the previous three:  since baby took 3.5
ounces, had gained 10 ounces a week from lowest discharge weight, and was
not causing pain to mother, the simplest plan seemed to me to be the best.
Compress, work at a good latch, don't jump up when you have an MER, just
stay put.  Encouragement, in other words.
I would be worried about all the other things you saw though.  I often see
"tongues that don't work right" and restrictions that a doctor won't clip,
and I know that down the road, supply may dip.   Your desire to keep
weighing the baby, or have another practitioner help keep track, and to
recommend pumping to keep supply high: all appropriate.  If a mother can't
do all I want her to do, I try to find something she can/will do: meet the
mother where she is.  Bright note: she is coming to see you!
This is a really challenging job.
