I was once greeted by the entire family when I did a home visit as an
LLL Leader. Strangely, the entourage did not leave the entire time I visited
with her. And she sat in the middle of the living room for ALL to see. I
suggested a more private setting while her mother prepared a bottle in the
kitchen. The Bf mom never acknowledged my suggestion for privacy, and
continued to sit in the living room. I had discovered that baby had lots of
pacifiers and bottles (OF COURSE!) before I came, and when I suggested
removing artificial nipples from her life, she acted like I told her to
sacrifice her baby at an altar! She exclaimed that she planned to
breast-bottle feed from the beginning, and that was what she was going to do.
If she had to exclusively breastfeed than she would just use abm! After she
blasted me, she insisted on paying me $40.00 for my time (GUILT--GUILT), and
she was so pushy that I eventually took the $40..00 as a donation to my LLL
Group! Debbie Albert, IBCLC
