Lactnuts
I have made a crossword puzzle that includes the word enteromammary, which I
thought referenced the system by which mommies make antibodies for their
babies after being exposed to pathogens, as in "enteromammary circulation."
Now I cannot find this word in any of my reference books, and not even in
Dr. Jack's wonderful article in Scientific American, which explains w/
pictures this marvelous system [dec 95, How breast milk protects newborns].
Can someone steer me to a ref or provide me w/ a definition and source? Or
is this term out of date and replaced w/ the MALT and BALT acronyms? Thanks
a bunch.
Laurie
