Hi All,
Rob, you said "I told my wife she can try the "dont offer, dont refuse"
approach
with our 16 month old. On this system he nurses 4 to 5 times in 24 hours."
Is that it? Geesh, my kid is 8-12 times in 24 hrs and he, too, is 16 mo
(well almost 17mo). Isn't it fun the differences in normal BF with kids of
similar age?
I like to listen to parent's stories of BF with their babes...it gives you a
whole new perspective of normal BF patterns. Now, I would hazard a guess
that Robs baby eats a heck of a lot more solid food than my PJ does, which
is probably the reason he BFs so often. I talk to parents wha are concerned
that their almost 18 mo old is still not eating a lot of solids and ease
their concerns by discussing the "are they growing, gaining, thriving"
topics, and also "do you offer solids?" (some don't think to do that...)
and if so, does baby eat them? In PJs case, sometimes he pigs out on
solids, sometimes he won't touch a thing for days. go figure...

On an aside, I may be doing a BF Q&A column in the near future with a LLLL
friend of mine for a local parenting newspaper. Any suggestions for me?
Anyone else do this sort of thing?
