Hello there- I am returning from an abscence of about a year due to many
children- Jack, I spoke with you at the recent Lact  Assoc conference about
summer camps in the Berkshires. Very nice conference and so fine to discover
an M.D. who is not afraid to emphasize the common sense approach to the
mother- baby dyad. I can tell you observed closely what was going on at home
concerning the nurturing of your own children. I am currently an RN,LC with a
private practice(small), 5 children(oldest applying to college), 13 years
exper as LLLleader, 4 years exper as lay midwife, and many other various hats
I wear.
I would like also to respond to the person helping the mom with the
abscess.?Did the mom try to nurse or was it assumed that the brst was too
sore?I recall somewhere seeing pics of a case study post-op abscess and the
mom continued to nurse even though the incision was at areolar line.
Redbook issue was spotted by my 15 yr old son in food store- Boston area
doesn't seem phased by it. Son thought I would be pleased-I was
Also- I recently had great success helping mom get a 7mo old onto breast
-infant had hrt surg @ brirth- no brst feeding since- detail on request-
