The Australian Department of Health and Ageing launched its National
Breastfeeding Strategy 2010 - 2015 last Friday. In it, there is a
mention of implementing the WHO Growth Charts.

Once the document is on the net, I am sure one of us will send the
link.

I read this news article:
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/lifestyle/breast-fed-babies-get-a-boost/story-e6frf00i-1225797462941

One bit caught my eye:

"And the Australian Government will develop a new national child
growth
chart based on breast fed babies to give breastfeeding mothers more
confidence that their babies are not underweight."

Can anyone in Australia tell me if this means that Australia is going
to:
1) collect data for a new country growth chart
2) use the WHO chart
3) go through the process we have done in the UK to produce the UK-WHo
chart and produce a 'AU-WHO' chart
4) use the UK chart
5)????

Thanks for any info, I am really interested, and so is the UK-Chart
group!
I am nomail but will try to check lactnet to see if there are any
answers.

thanks!
