What would cause a mom, who has a good milk supply (not over supply) to not
have the high-fat hind milk? Baby, 3 weeks old,was stooling well and of
good color for two weeks then only scant, green stools. Urine output is
fine. Baby needs to feed very often to get her caloric needs. After a full
feed and then pumping extensively, the milk was still not creamy.

Could mom's diet be a factor? She has been busy and just grabbing food when
she can, and has, in 3 weeks, returned to her pre-preg weight. When we
discussed her foods for the previous 24 hours there was little fat. Low fat
this and that. She isn't doing it because she is weight concious or after
an unrealistic body shape, but that is just how they all eat. She doesn't
use any dairy procucts (long time allergies) and hadn't been taking
additional ca./mag.

I left her with recommendation to boost her fat intake along with overall
increase in food consumption. Is there anything else? I remember a post on
anemia and low milk supply, but she isn't anemic and her supply isn't low,
just low in fat.
