Does anyone know of any basic research conducted on the consequences of
mixing human milk and formula either powdered or liquid?  I have done a
search on-line and haven't found anything yet.  It seems to me that such
a common practice should have been looked at as far as inactivation of
human milk components, including lactoferrin, cytokines, antibodies,
lipase, etc.  I know that in research on yeast in human milk, they had
to inactivate lactoferrin by adding ferrous sulfate before they could
culture yeast that was present in the milk.  What about other
components?
