Fiona, Dr. Ruth Lawrence's book indicates that oral Fluconazole is safe and
indicated for use in lactating mothers. I have called several drug info
lines and they also indicate this. I dont think , from what I have read,
that Diflucan has the same liver effects as Nizoral. I also read somewhere
that they use Diflucan on NICU babies..who have thrush systemically.
Therefore, we do recommend that mothers see a physician and get a
prescription for this particular drug. It is safe according to the
information I have derived.
