I've been thinking.....dangerous I know.....if overfeeding leads to childhood and/or life long obesity...what should we be advising moms whose babies are gaining more than 8 oz/week?????
When I first started this in 1967, insufficient milk (probably related to late initiation, schedules, etc.) was THE problem. Today well nourished US moms are tickled when they have little butter balls who are gaining rapidly.....the research seems to be indicating that this isn't as good as we/moms think this is and leads to childhood obesity.
Or the BF baby has GERD, possibly related to overfeeding.....
