I just wanted to let everyone know that the surviving twin who had
been gaining & losing weight has just gained 5 ounces, and is the
heaviest she's been, excepting birth.  The paediatrician thinks grief
and family stress has a lot to do with her slow gain (plus the
maternal grandfather had gastro and was slow to gain as a newborn, so
genetics may play a part).  Thanks to everyone who posted for your
advice and support.
