Hi all. I got a message from a friend today that has been told by her doctor
that she needs to have a test done to check out the gall bladder using
radioactive dye. Doc advised to pump and dump for 24 hours. Baby is 9 1/2
months and nurses roughly 5 times daily. Several questions:

1. Would an ultrasound be just as effective in determining the presence of
gall stones (sorry about this if it is a dumb question, I am not a nurse),
and 2. From the reading I have done in the archives, isn't 12 hours long
enough to pump and dump? She says doctor is supportive of breastfeeding, but
I wonder....... (not flaming the doc, really).

TIA!
