I am not familiar with the medical issues such as the sweating, but my
daughter had severe issues with eating and gagged when we tried to give her
solids for many months. My son also refused any form of solids until past
10 months & still nurses more than he eats at almost 2. We believe that my
daughter has Sensory Integration Disorder and that my son is also
"sensitive" though milder. The low muscle tone I am assuming that the little
one has since she has been refered to a speech pathologist and OT can also
have an effect the muscles in the bowls from moving along properly. I
wonder if she can fight to be seen by an OT and speech pathologist sooner?
They can be of great help with the eating issues and in the mean time she
can be supported that she truly is keeping her little one alive! It seems
that the doctor's main concern should be dehydration & constipation issues
and getting her referred to specialist ASAP. Perhaps the tongue tie issue,
along with sensory issues are keeping this little one from eating? The
web-site for Sensory Integration International is
http://www.sensoryint.com. Another thought that comes to mind is
Celiacs (or other allergies). I
don't know if the sweating would make sense here either, but she might want
to consider an intolerance to wheat or dairy that doesn't come up as a true
"allergy". My heart goes out to this family.
