Has anyone heard of this? Is this true? Or am I just too naive to think
surely this can't be true?

>On May 4, Lance and I went to court on Temporary Orders and a
>Protective Order that I had filed against him. Two weeks before, Lance
>had pushed me into a wall while I was holding Cadyn, and this time I
>decided was the last.
>
>When we went to court, Lance admitted to being abusive, and was unable
>to disprove any of the evidence against him, including a witness to
>him being verbally abusive to Cadyn. But once the judge learned that
>I was still nursing Cadyn, which is usually only at night before
>bedtime, he decided that Cadyn was better off being alone with Lance
>and that my breastfeeding was the reason that Cadyn and his father's
>relationship isn't that close. He stated very clearly that my
>breastfeeding is strange and disgusting.
>
>So during Lance's weeks (we switch back and forth) I am not allowed to
>have any contact whatsoever with Cadyn. I can't even go to the baby
>sitters to nurse him. The World Health Organizations and the Surgeon
>General as well as Cadyn's pediatrician all stand behind nursing
>babies through their second year. We explained this to the judge and
>even another lawyer told him this after our case was over and he told
>her he "didn't care." Dealing with this has been hard for me but as
>you can imagine it is probably harder for Cadyn. But there is nothing
>I can do until we go for the final hearing in August. Except for what
>I am doing now and asking everyone I can to do.
>
>Governor George Bush of TX hand picked Judge Ralph Strother of the
>19th District court in Waco, TX. I am asking everyone I can to please
>write to Gov. Bush and ask him where he stands on this issue, does he
>agree that an abusive father is better for a child than a
>breastfeeding mother? Give him the information of this case: Schrank v
>Schrank, and if you agree that this wrong then write and tell him so.
>
>I have posted to a number of message boards and have received a lot of
>support, but every bit counts. Bush will have to take some sort of
>stand on this if he gets enough responses. So as my friends and
>family I am asking you to help and feel free to send this to anyone
>else that may want to help as well. I don't mean to start an email
>chain letter, I just want my baby back and let it be our decision when
>we wean.
>
>Thank you so much for everything, you have always been there when I
>have needed you, and now, Cadyn and I both need you. Again, thank
>you.

>I love all of you
