Ask a dairy farmer. I'm sure that she would tell you that all of her good
producers notice a drop in supply if they start strenuosly working out at
the gym  :) or if a crop failure necessitates a drop in feed.

Cows that don't get enough good food dry up. Why wouldn't other mammals do
so.

Literature and broad history are replete with stories of mothers losing
their milk and their infants when there was famine and severe stress.
