Hi Lactnetters
Its a while since I posted but have been reading regularly. What I am
looking for is a clarification of the WHO code. Today I received a
professional nursing journal with a full page advertisement for a local
brand of infant formula. It was posted to my home address. Where I live, in
Australia, Australia is a signatory to the WHO code.

I recognise professional information regarding formulas are exept if the
purpose is for professional education. This is a glossy full page (bright
alert baby, cans of formula prominantly displayed) with the heading "All
infant formulas are NOT the same" mentioning a few of the features of the
formula. The bottom line is that I didn't ask for it. The ethics are
questionable but what about the legality since it was unsolicited and to a
home address where other people could pick it up and read it???
