I hope the most knowledgable bunch of people I know out there can help me. I
have a mom diagnosed 8 weeks ago with dilated cardiomyopathy. This is damage
to the heart muscle. It is not from substance abuse, postpartum, genetic, or
known viral. Mom is nursing a three year old but was planning on getting
pregnant when this was discovered by accident during an echocardiogram. Mom
is currently on Vasotec, but beta-blockers are being considered. She is
asymptomatic now. Her questions are, can she still nurse three year old on
beta-blockers, and does anyone have information on cardiomyopathy and
pregnancy. Thanks for all your knowledge.
