Sage tea / capspules; OCPs if acceptable for her; candies / mints made from peppermint oil like Altoids; cabbage: the darkest and greenest you can find and wear it all the time at home changing leaves as they wilt - or cook. May have to go to a specialty grocery as the bigger stores carry the anemic-green cabbage we use in cole slaw.

How about Vit. B-6? Two RNs at my hospital told me of getting a B-6 injection, 2 for one of them, to slow down or stop lactation. Hale says sometimes it doesn't work, but these RNs were enthusiastic about what they did to dry up after weaning.

Then there's the drug used in Europe: cabergoline / Dostinex. It's action is anti-prolactin and used instead of Parlodel in cases of galactorrhea. She should take all info about this serious choice to her MD to see if it's appropriate for her. And read about it in Hale and on ToxNet.

Wonder what her actual prolactin levels are?

Phyllis
