I asked Sarah Danner about the origin of the Dancer hand position this past
Saturday when we both attended a meeting of the United States Breastfeeding
Committee.

She said the term really has TWO origins - the position of the hand evokes a
dancer's hand, AND it's a combination of her name and Ed Cerutti's name
(Dan+Cer).

As others pointed out in earlier Lactnet posts, the position / technique
isn't new.
