It will be interesting to see adults' reactions towards us for having
taught their children about the hazards of not breastfeeding.

A mother who made the decision not to breastfeeding without having had
adequate information to choose otherwise does not have anything to
reproach herself. She may be angry at the medical professionals for not
having told her or emphasized it more strongly, though. We might keep
this in mind when we teach in breastfeeding classes.

On the other hand, if she had all necessary information to choose
breastfeeding and still did not breastfeed, she can only blame herself.
On a more positive note, she can learn from her experience and make sure
she encourages her children to breastfeed their babies. As an aside, I
think we are missing "something" when a mother has all the information
and still decides not to breastfeed. I also think that the national
breastfeeding campaign is on to something when it uses the
carrot-and-stick strategy. Anyway, this is another story.

Teaching the importance of breastfeeding to youngsters is pivotal as
they will make sure that their babies will be breastfed, especially if
they feel that they are missing out (in IQ, health) now. They will not
want this to happen to their children. Like any parents, they will want
the best for their children and they will know deep down that
breastfeeding is the way, and easy at that, to do it.
