Yes, back in my wild youth, "I inhaled." The munchies were a well known
component of smoking pot. So much so that cancer patients undergoing chemo
were given THC (the active ingredient) or smoked pot in some experiments on
handling the extreme nausea and vomiting usually associated with chemo. In
fact a close family friend who had cancer (and later died, unfortunately)
smoked pot. This was a very proper, southern, society lady of 50!!! I'm sure
her garden club pals would have been appalled, but she claimed it was the
only thing that worked for her. None of the usual anti-emetics or appetite
enhancers had worked and her doctor had advised that if she could get some,
go for it. She was not a candidate for the experiments.

And, it seems to me there was an article in the popular press recently about
a "pot bar" in a major city that the local law enforcement leaves alone
because most all the customers are cancer patients seeking this "medicinal"
effect.

I don't want to leave anyone with the impression that I illicit drug use is
just peachy keen by me. It is not.

Well, Happy 4th, y'all.

Margaret Ann Paxton, who has just confessed to y'all what most everyone who
knows her already, knew: "The mid-1970s were the best of times and the worst
of times." Borrowing from Mr. Dickens.
