Jean,

I believe you are right when you refer to this as a landmark study.  It is
well-worth reading and using to make changes in our health care systems.  I
have noted in regard to the Coutsaudis study in regard to hiv and
breastfeeding that some experts are concerned that exclusive breastfeeding is
impractical in many African countries because it has never been done.  This
study paves the way in proving that through the BFHI guidelines,
breastfeeding exclusively will happen.

I also found it interesting that while the data  on SIDS was not statistical
significant, it did show a trend that exclusive breastfeeding may lower the
risk.  They started out with 17, 046 mother-baby pairs.  I agree this
